What are the methods of payment?

Although we prioritize payment by Interac transfer, it is also possible to make payment by Visa or MasterCard, by check or by bank transfer.

What are the terms and conditions?

November to August
A deposit may be required upon reservation. The complete payment is due 10 days prior to departure (non-refundable).
September/ October and long week-ends (Canadian bank holidays)
A non-refundable deposit may be required upon reservation. The complete payment is due 30 days prior to departure (non-refundable).

How can I contact Autocar Excellence, in case of an emergency?

For any emergency, please contact our toll-free line at 1-800-463-2265 or our local phone number 418-835-3336. Outside regular business hours, you will be answered by a relay center. If it is an emergency, ask to be connected to our dispatch on duty.

How can I contact my driver?

You will receive an email with the driver’s contact information, 24 to 48 hours prior to departure.

What are the rules concerning the driver hours of service and on-duty time?

In Canada – In brief:
The limit of on-duty time per driver shall be 14 hours in a 24-hour day.
On-duty time means the time devoted to:
• preparing the vehicle prior to departure
• driving the motorcoach
• waiting for travellers while they are engaged in
the activities included in the tour program, etc.
Of these 14 on-duty hours, the maximum driving time is 13 hours.
A driver must complete his/her workday no later than 16 hours after starting it.
During a 24 hours period, he/she must take a 10 hours rest break.
The workday must include two hours of rest, with each rest period to last a minimum of
30 minutes.
An 8 hours period of rest is mandatory before starting a new shift.
24 consecutive hours of rest are mandatory after 14 days of work.

In the United States
Within every 15 hours of a driver’s work time, the maximum length of time allowed for driving
a motorcoach should not exceed 10 hours.
Following this time, 8 hours of rest are mandatory.

Is it possible to travel overnight?

As a safety measure for passengers and the driver, Autocar Excellence has made changes to its overnight travel policy. According to our driver’s experience, which is supported by the industry’s statistics, driving between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m. is extremely difficult and unsafe. Henceforth, a driver change will be done at 3 a.m. regardless of the time of departure or the destination. We want the driver to be alert and aware when he goes through these difficult hours. Please take note that overnight travel may be impossible, during certain periods of the year.

Do we have to pay for the accommodation, meals and gratuities for the driver?

Driver’s accommodation is required in every city and will be reserved by the client. Meals are the responsibility of the driver, but should you wish to pay for a meal, at your discretion, it will be very much appreciated. Gratuities are at your discretion. We do suggest an amount of 10% of the total bill or $3 to $5 per person, per day.

Do you have WIFI?

WIFI service can be added at a cost per day. The WIFI service works with cellular data, so if the bus is in a remote area, the connection may be more difficult.

Do you have audio-video equipment?

All of our coaches are equipped with video monitors and a DVD player for our passengers’ entertainment.

Do we have to pay for additional costs like tolls or parking fees?

Tolls, mandatory parking fees and any other additional costs related to the trip will be charged to the client.

Is it possible to make modification to the itinerary?

Modifications made to the itinerary will be respected as long as they comply with the laws and regulations of the driver’s driving hours. Changes must be consistent with the route and must not cause extra mileage. If this is not the case, additional charges may apply.
