Global Passenger Network (GPN) held its 2022 Spring General Meeting scheduled to take place in Krakow, Poland was finally organized virtually once again due to the conflict in Ukraine.

Although the GPN family would have preferred to meet in person, nonetheless this meeting was a great opportunity to meet, exchange views and ideas and to discuss about the vision of GPN for the next 5 years.

Moreover, we were happy that amidst these challenging times we had the opportunity to grow our network and to welcome 2 new members to our family:

  • Brioni from Croatia, a company whose main activity is passenger transport both domestic and international with 75 years long tradition. In 2017 Brioni became proud member of Nomago group which operates with 750 buses, and has the largest market share in Slovenia.
  • Gotis Transport from Rwanda, a licensed car rental company providing smooth transporting on the field across the country.

Besides growing our network of partners, we also welcomed a new GPN Partner: Volvo Buses. Volvo Buses is one of the world’s leading providers of sustainable people transport solutions. Its extensive sales network in 85 countries and global service network with more than 1,500 dealerships and workshops adds great value to all GPN members. This partnership will ensure a close co-operation that will open new opportunities.

In addition, 3 BOD members term was expiring and we conducted voting. We even grew our BOD from 9 to 10 people so it is better aligned with our strategy of GPN’s regionalization. Fabio Figus – Vice-Chairman and Keith McDonnel – Treasurer were re-elected whereas we welcomed 2 new members : Claudia Boissonneault from Tour Car in Canada and Thami Mourad from GM2 Tours in Morocco. Our Board of Directors are now comprised of representatives from all the continents that GPN has members in.

Agnes Pastuszak – GPN Chairman said: “I am very sad that we had to cancel the in-person meeting in Krakow, Poland. I was looking forward to meeting with the GPN family and hosting them in my beautiful city. However, I am glad that we have the chance to meet virtually and to see everyone. It is a shorter meeting but with great content. We have voted for new BOD members, have welcomed new members and a new partner. GPN is growing and as we grow, the opportunities and the benefits of our family grow. I look forward to our next General Meeting which will be in person and will be hosted by our French member.”

GPN is already preparing the 2022 Autumn General Meeting that will take place in Lyon hosted by GPN France: Saybus!
