On March 3 – 5, 2010, Vikingbus hosted the 9th bi-annual Global Passenger Network meeting, bringing member bus operators from 18 countries to Copenhagen for the 3-day meeting, which was held at the Marriott Copenhagen.
The first day of the meeting was dedicated to the work of GPN’s various committees, which are responsible for sales, marketing, technology and membership issues within the network. The next two days consisted of general meetings. Topics covered were the progress and direction of the committees, transfer optimization of empty legs, internal organization, GPN tours, the 5-year plan for the organization, association memberships, and purchasing programs. During this meeting, GPN was proud to welcome Greece into its group, making for a total of 25 member countries.
Global Passenger Network was created in July of 2006 with 9 member countries, with the goal of bringing together high quality bus operators to offer the best in safety, service and quality worldwide. GPN members are experts in all types of bus services, from transfers to events and congresses to multi-day tours. GPN operators can be contacted through a single website: www.gpn.travel
GPN will be exhibiting this year at the RDA trade fair in Cologne from May 27 – 29, as well as WTM in London from November 8 – 11. The next meeting will be held in Reykjavik, Iceland, in November 2010.
