GJ Travel Recognised as a VR Model Company 2026

GPN member GJ Travel has been recognised as a Model Company 2026 in VR’s annual “Company of the Year” survey. The company is among the 15 medium-sized businesses in Iceland to receive this distinction this year.

The survey is conducted by VR, Iceland’s largest trade union, and is based on employee evaluations of factors such as workplace culture, management, job satisfaction, equality, salary terms, and working environment. The results reflect a strong company culture and a long-term focus on building a positive and professional workplace.

Founded in 1931, GJ Travel remains family-owned and operated by the third generation. Throughout the years, the company has placed strong emphasis on professionalism, safety, teamwork, and continuous staff training, alongside responsible operations and sustainability.

In recent years, GJ Travel has received several recognitions for its operations and workplace culture, including being named a Model Company 2025 and receiving the Icelandic Encouragement Award for Responsible Tourism 2025 for its commitment to responsible tourism and sustainable operations.
