Kynnisferðir – sister company of GPN Iceland “Reykjavik Excursions” – purchases Actice

An agreement has been signed for Kynnisferðir purchase of the tourism company Actice ehf. which operates under the brand „Activity Iceland“. Actice specializes in tailor-made travel solutions in Iceland’s nature and operates 13 vehicles, mostly modified jeeps as well as offering various other services for tourists. Current owners are Harpa Groiss, Haraldur G. Bender and Guðjón Häsler.

Kynnisferðir that operates now under the ICELANDIA brand are one of the largest tourism companies in the country. The company’s group includes Reykjavik Excursions, Icelandic Mountain Guides, Iceland Rovers, Dive.is, Flybus, the tow truck company Garðaklettur, Almenningsvagnar Kynnisferða, and Kynnisferðir is the franchisee of Enterprise Rent-a-Car in Iceland.

Arctica Finance and BBA Legal advised Kynnisferðir during the purchase, and AOS rágjöf together with KRST Lögmenn advised the sellers. The acquisition will be reported to the Competition Authority for approval and due diligence is ongoing.
