104 VDL Citeas LLE for Syntus
104 VDL Citeas LLE for Syntus
VDL Bus & Coach recently delivered 104 Citeas LLE to Syntus. These Light Low Entry Citeas with a length of 12 metres are all destined for the Twente concession, which spans a region in the east of the Netherlands. VDL Bus & Coach previously sold this customer 156 Ambassadors, the forerunner of the Citea LLE. “We are exceptionally proud of the fact that
Syntus has again opted for our lightweight Citea, which with its long service life and low fuel consumption yields Maximum Profit of Ownership”, said Jan van Meijl, Sales Manager Public Transport VDL Bus & Coach Nederland. In addition to the delivery of 104 Citeas LLE, VDL also carried out various modifications to 11 mini buses.
VDL Citea LLE
The Citea LLE is a low-entry bus based on an innovative, lightweight concept, specially designed for the demanding conditions of city and regional transport. The sophisticated construction method results in a remarkably low unladen weight, the main benefits of which are significantly lower fuel consumption compared to conventional buses, reduction of CO2 emissions and lower maintenance costs. The low floor construction at the entry and exit doors provides optimal accessibility for
wheelchair users and passengers with baby buggies. This accessibility is further enhanced by the lack of any floor height changes between the entry and exit.
All the Citeas for Syntus were delivered in the new Twente-region house style with a 2+2 seating arrangement. The seats are luxurious, with a special fabric to match the new house style. 230 Volt sockets are provided at four seating positions. Eight seats have folding tables. All the buses are fitted with an electric wheelchair ramp. A special feature is that instead of one there are two standing areas, for placing both a wheelchair and a baby buggy. The space for the baby buggy also has four deluxe folding seats.
