RDA at ITB Berlin from 6th to 10th March 2013

The ITB Berlin from 6th to 10th March 2013 (opening times daily: from 10.00 am to 18.00 pm) is the largest annual travel industry exhibition worldwide (160,000 m²). In 2012 some 172,132 visitors attended. Of these 113,006 were trade visitors (66% of these originating from the European Union). A total of 10,644 exhibitors were registered, of these 21% from Germany itself, all others coming from some 180 countries around the globe.

The RDA International Coach Tourism Federation and the RDA-Workshop Touristic-Service GmbH will be represented at the ITB Berlin once again. Dieter Gauf, CEO RDA, and Karin Margret Kohls, Managing Director of RDA-Workshop Touristic Service GmbH, will lead the RDA delegation. They may be visited at the German National Tourist Board (DZT) stand in Hall 12, Stand Nr. 102. Competent RDA staff will be available to answer any questions you may have concerning the federation and its current activities and to supply information about coach tourism and forthcoming events – including the 2013 AGM and Annual Conference in Augsburg and the 2013 RDA-Workshop whose special exhibition theme in 2013 is “Experience culture”.

David Scowsill, President & CEO, World Travel & Tourism Council, states that “Travel & Tourism accounts for 258 million jobs globally. At US $6 trillion (9.1% of GDP) the sector is a key driver for investment and economic growth and at a global level. It is larger than the automotive industry at 8% GDP, and just smaller than banking at 11%. Our key challenge in the industry is to stimulate jobs and investment, eliminating barriers to travel such as visa restrictions, taxation, and outmoded infrastructure systems. I am confident that these issues will be addressed at Europe’s premier travel trade fair – ITB Berlin. It is the key place to learn about new trends, market developments, and to deepen existing business relationships”.
