3 VDL BUS & COACH PREMIERES AT BUSWORLD 2013

VDL Bus & Coach, our Strategic Alliance Partner, introduces no fewer than three premieres during Busworld 2013. The Futura range is being extended with the Futura FMD2, a multipurpose vehicle that takes maximum advantage of the modular construction technique employed by VDL and all the related benefits. On the stand will be the FMD2-129, with a length of 12.9 metres. Within the Citea range there are two new models. One is the Citea SLFA, an articulated city and intercity bus with lengths of 18 and 18.75 metres, of which the 18 metre-version will be shown to the public for the first time. The Citea MLE (Midi Low Entry), a new model for the public transport segment comprising midi buses, is offered in lengths of 8.8 to 10.8 metres. The MLE-88, with a length of 8.8 metres, will be on the stand. VDL Bus & Coach will be in hall 4 at stand 404. Busworld 2013 is being held in Kortrijk (Belgium) from 18 through 23 October 2013.

Demo rides VDL Citea Electric

The VDL Citea Electric, a fully electric Citea SLF Low Floor with a length of 12 metres, is located in the outdoor area adjacent to the VDL Bus & Coach stand. The demonstration rides will provide you with the opportunity to experience the sublime electric drive of this Citea yourself. The ability to choose from various electric drives and battery packages ensures that the most ideal and optimal combination can be selected for every deployment area, without consequences for accessibility, interior layout or comfort.

Ready for the future

Also on display at the stand are a Futura FHD2-129 with a length of 12.9 metres, a Futura FHD2-139 with a length of 13.9 metres and the lightweight champion Citea LLE-120. All the vehicles are fitted with Euro 6 engines from the renowned engine suppliers with which VDL Bus & Coach has partnerships (DAF, Cummins, FPT). In the outdoor area are a MidCity and a MidEuro. Both vehicles are based on the facelifted Mercedes-Benz Sprinter.
